The later, more common version of the Mayflower UW Gen 4 chest rig is similar to the earlier version except the front harness buckles are now exposed and the height of the female side on the harness can be adjusted. This change appears to have taken place around June 2016. [1]

Usage Photos:

Afghan NDS:

Afghan NDS personnel have been photographed using a coyote brown chest rig with a similar layout to the UW Gen IV to hold AK magazines, which probably would not fit in the originals since they were intended for smaller sized 5.56 STANAG magazines. It is possible they are modified originals, copies of the original adapted for larger magazines, or a currently (as of June 2026) undocumented Velocity Systems product.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban):

Some examples, originals, copies or both, were likely captured from Afghan government stores during the fall of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and used by members of Badri 313.
