Rucksack:

The M1952 mountain rucksack was an improved version of the M1942 rucksack used for mountain warfare during World War Two. The WW2 and later designs were used until the 1970’s by Army Airbrone, Rangers, and Special Forces, particularly in Europe and colder climates for mountain warfare training [1], with a few even being used in Vietnam [2].

Beret:

Three piece beret in the French/South Vietnamese style. This beret was likely made after the Vietnam War based on the left hand twill [9] weave of the ERDL material. [10]

Inside:

Tiger stripe material under flash insignia area is from before 1975 since the twill weave is in the opposite direction (right hand [9]) from the ERDL material (left hand [9]).[10]

Hood:

An unused M1951 jacket hood was found inside the rucksack.
