

Like the VBSS vest, this vest also used a grenadier’s vest as a base for modifications. The grenade pouches were removed and 2-inch wide webbing was stitched in place to allow for pouches to be attached via metal “ALICE” clips.

Plastic snaps, used on this example, were used in earlier production M79 Grenadier vests, starting in 1968. The metal snaps were introduced in 1973. [1]
