This Zeltbahn (shelter half) in splinter camouflage was made for the West German Bundesgrenzschutz (BGS) Border Guards. Like their sumpftarn camouflage uniforms, it is very similar to equipment used by the Wehrmacht in World War 2. Their very military appearance was justified by their intended role as light infantry in the event that the Soviet bloc attempted to invade the West.
