The US Navy’s Construction Battalions, or “Seabees” from the phonetic pronunciation of the abbreviation, are normally responsible for building and maintaining structures necessary for naval operations. Some Seabees are attached to Naval Special Warfare (NSW) are part of Combat Service Support Detachments where they receive additional training to support SEAL teams.[1]

The vest is an LBT-1620-A-R floatation vest in 3-color desert camouflage. The foam floatation panels are accessible through the internal zippers. The buckles are dated 2006:

The belt looped through the bottom of the vest is a Tactical Assault Gear (TAG) branded rigger belt.

Holster:

The Safariland 6004-77 holster for a SIG P226 pistol is fixed in place by rubberized tape.

Orange discoloration is likely from usage in a maritime environment, not manufacturing.

Modified DCU:

The DCU has been modified in the typical Naval Special Warfare style, except the Seabees insignia was embroidered onto the lower pocket that would become the right chest pocket (as worn).

The original right chest pocket with the Seabees embroidery was moved to the left arm and is covered by the velcro.

Patch:

A triangular SEAL Team 7 patch in desert camouflage colors was attached to the right arm pocket velcro.
