Boonie Hat:

This version of the South Vietnamese Marine Corps (VNMC) Tiger Stripe pattern on this hat was in use from 1968 until the end of the Vietnam War (1975) [1]. It is sometimes referred to as the “Sea Wave” pattern, especially among collectors [2][3]. The camouflage material is very lightweight cotton twill, almost like dress shirt fabric.

VNMC Seawave hats were also used by US Army 9th Infantry Division members, Army Rangers, US Navy PBR and Tango boat crews, the MRF, and Navy SEALs, especially after 1969 [4].
